Combat Training Required for OEF, OIF-Bound Sailors

All sailors with orders to shore positions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Enduring Freedom for more than 30 days must first complete a three-week combat skills training course at Fort Jackson, S.C., within 90 days before they deploy. The training focuses on general combat skills, including weapons use and maintenance, combat life saving, convoy operations and combat movement, land navigation, communications, administration and equipment issue.
