The Pentagon soon will consolidate many space operations under one roof. The new Joint Interagency Combined Space Operations Center, which will be set up at Schriever Air Force Base, Colo., will not replace other commands entirely. The new command was established largely in reaction to increased threats to security of space-based assets.
