The Coast Guard commissioned its newest national security cutter, named Hamilton, during an Oct. 26 ceremony at Ingalls Shipyards in Pascagoula, Miss. Hamilton was launched Aug. 10, and will be delivered to the Coast Guard next September. The 418-foot ship is capable of a 28-knot top speed and 12,000-mile range. It will be home-ported in Charleston, S.C.
