Active, reserve and National Guard components for the four armed services each met or exceeded recruiting goals for December. The active-duty Army reported 860 accessions; the Marine Corps, 2,392, 115 percent and 113 percent of the goals, respectively. The active-duty Navy and Air Force met accession goals with 2,306 and 2,967 respectively. The Army National Guard had 6,607 accessions, 143 percent of its goal, while the Army Reserve reports 3,335 accessions – 112 percent of its goal. The Navy Reserve, with 582 accessions, and the Marine Corps Reserve, with 582 accessions, met projected goals. The Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve reported 803 and 701 accessions, 111 percent and 102 percent of the goals, respectively.
