DFAS Sends 2008 Tax Statements

All service members and recipients of military retirement pay and other related benefits should receive a statement of their 2008 income from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) by Jan. 15. DFAS began mailing out W-2, 1099-R, and 1099-INT forms in early December in anticipation of the impending income tax preparation season. Persons with access to MyPay, available online at https://mypay.dfas.mil/mypay.aspx, can receive their statements earlier than those who rely on the mail for delivery.
