Persons who think they can come up with mobile-device applications that will foster learning in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) are getting a chance to show their stuff. The Defense Department is sponsoring a competition, in which mobile-app developers will demonstrate the utility of their STEM learning tools. The contest runs from April 2 through June 4. Winners will have the opportunity to showcase their work at the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative’s iFest Conference, held in Orlando, Fla., July 31 through Aug. 2. Participation in the contest is free. To apply, or for more information, visit http://www.adlnet.gov/stem-app-challenge.
