Embassy Protection Enhanced

President Obama ordered the deployment of 350 additional military personnel to Iraq to protect the U.S. Embassy there, the Pentagon announced Sept. 2. Combined with additional troops sent to Baghdad in June, roughly 820 personnel now are assigned to protect the embassy there. They include a headquarters element, medical personnel, helicopters, and an air liaison team.
