F-16 Crash Kills Pilot

The pilot of an Air Force F-16 fighter died when the aircraft crashed while returning to base somewhere in the Middle East Dec. 1. The incident was not combat-related, according to an Air Force statement, and the crash did not occur in either Iraq or Syria. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The initial Air Force statement did not identify the pilot.
