Military doctors are advising all personnel that flu shots and mists alone may not be enough to quell an outbreak of influenza this year, Stars and Stripes is reporting. The Jan. 5 story pointed out that the flu now breaking out in the continental U.S. is not of a strain that was included in this year’s vaccine. Additionally, reports of flu among service members in Germany are up somewhat compared to last year. Care providers still highly recommend taking the flu vaccine anyway, and following obvious sanitary habits such as washing hands and covering mouths when sneezing or coughing.
