Free Tax Services Available

Service members and their dependents again can receive free help preparing and filing their 2015 federal and state income taxes. In cooperation with H&R Block, the Defense Department is offering tax consultations and online preparation software through a program called Military OneSource. Consultants are available via toll-free telephone between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern Time, at (800) 342-9647, through April 15. They will be around after April 15 as well, between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday. The tax-preparation Web site is www.militaryonesource.mil.
