The Pentagon plans to install a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system on Guam. The system, consisting of a truck-mounted launcher, interceptor missiles, a tracking radar, and fire control, would help protect the island and other Pacific assets against aggressor nations in the region – particularly North Korea.
