Guard, Reserve Help Firefighting Efforts

Two specially equipped C-130 aircraft and their crews have joined the fight against wildfires in California and the Pacific Northwest. The planes, assigned to the 146th Airlift Wing from Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, Calif., carry U.S. Forest Service Modular Airborne Firefighting Systems. The aircraft were deployed at the request of the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.
