A AV-8B Harrier crashed into a group of houses in Imperial, Calif., June 4. Initial reports from the Marine Corps provided little indication of the extent of damage the aircraft, based at Yuma Marine Corps Air Station, Ariz., inflicted. Numerous media reports, however, indicated that while the crash evidently did not harm anyone, damage to homes was significant. Two were destroyed. “We’ve reached out to folks to make sure they’re being taken care of now and will continue to work with them,” Capt. Anton Semelroth, a Marine Corps spokesman, said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
