Humanitarian Relief Medal Authorized

Service members who took part in November 2013 hurricane-relief efforts in the Philippines could be eligible for the Humanitarian Service Medal. Under criteria set forth by the Joint Staff Feb. 27, service members who were physically present in and provided humanitarian assistance to the affected area between Nov. 10 and Dec. 13, 2013, would qualify. Service members and veterans who believe they fit the criteria should contact the awards branch of their respective service.
