The Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group deployed Jan. 2 from home ports in Virginia and Florida for a six-month cruise, the Navy announced. Vessels and squadrons deploying with Ike include Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 7, destroyers McFaul, Carney, and Farragut, and guided missile cruiser Hue City. The ships will support 5th and 6th Fleet operations.
