Instructor Removed After Sailor Dies

The Navy has removed a SEAL instructor following the death of a sailor under his charge, NBC News and the Virginian-Pilot newspaper reported. Witnesses reported that the instructor had held Seaman James Derek Lovelace, underwater moments before the sailor died. The incident occurred May 6 at the SEAL training center at Coronado Naval Amphibious Base, Calif. An investigation is ongoing.
