Sailors using the Job Advertising and Selection System (JASS) Career Management System or JCMS now must log on using their Common Access Card (CAC). The Web site, which also is changing its name to Career Management System/Interactive Detailing (CMS/ID), is adding a “gates” and “flags” system that will give Sailors a fast, easy way to see if they are eligible for jobs listed in CMS. Previously, Sailors could log in to CMS/ID from any computer with Internet access using only a user name and password, but Defense Department regulations require government systems such as CMS to be protected by Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates, which are loaded on a Sailor’s CAC ID card. Sailors will be able to access CMS only from computers that offer these protection certificates. For more information, see NAVADMIN 278/06 or contact the command career counselor, or visit www.npc.navy.mil/Enlisted/JCMS/.
