Marine Corps Relieves Commander

The Marine Corps has fired Lt. Col. Jay E. Moorman, commander of Marine Light Helicopter Squadron 367, Stars and Stripes reported Dec. 1. Brig. Gen. Steven R. Rudder, the commanding general of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, made the decision to relieve Moorman of command of the Okinawa-based unit, citing “loss of confidence in his ability to continue in command,” according to the report, which provided no further details.
