Marines Deploy to Eastern Europe

A contingent of 160 Marines, equipped with tanks, artillery and light-armored reconnaissance vehicles, are deploying to Bulgaria from Bremerhaven,
Germany. The Marines will support NATO allies and other international partners in the Black Sea region, specifically with the intent of curbing potential Russian aggression. They are part of a regular, semi-annual rotation to the area, and ultimately will operate out of Mihail Koglinceanu Air Base, Romania.
