Marines Enhance PsyOps Career Field

The Marine Corps now will allow its enlisted psychological operations experts to remain in the career field through pay grade E-9, Military.com recently reported. The move was made in recognition of the importance of the specialty, known officially as Military Information Support Operations (MISO). The service believes the added emphasis would serve to counter the effective campaigns conducted by Islamic State fighters and other enemies among local populations. The Corps activated two new support battalions within the I and III Military Information Groups (MIGs) respectively, in March and April.
