The Marine Corps can add Romania to the list of spots on the globe to which its members have deployed. On May 8, Marines and sailors from the Twentynine Palms, Calif.-based 1st Tank Battalion, Newburgh, N.Y.-based Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 452, and the 4th Civil Affairs Group, Marine Corps Forces Reserve, deployed to the country as the first-ever Security Cooperation Marine Air Ground Task Force to serve in the Black Sea region. The Black Sea Rotational Force will remain in theater through late July, conducting training and peacekeeping operations at bases in Babadag, Romania, and Novo Selo, Bulgaria.
