Speaking to a cadre of comrades and industry leaders, the chief of Army Materiel Command stressed the need to be ready for future challenges as the service finishes the task at hand. “As our Army continues its transition in Afghanistan, we must simultaneously prepare … for the next contingency,” Gen. Dennis L. Via, Materiel Command’s chief, said to an audience at the Association of the U.S. Army Institute of Land Warfare winter meeting in Huntsville, Ala., Feb. 20.
