The U.S. has no plans to remove any troops from South Korea, Defense Secretary James Mattis said June 5.
“I really don’t know where this stuff comes from. Once someone has made it up, apparently it gets a life of its own,” Mattis said, as reported by the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) on its web site. There are now more than 23,000 U.S. troops in Korea, according to AUSA.
