More than 80 children of active and former Marines who demonstrate academic excellence each will receive roughly $3,400 in scholarships from the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. During its 23rd Annual Washington Gala on June 6, the organization announced it has raised more than $300,000 in scholarship money. The scholarship foundation has provided educational assistance to children of Marines and the Navy corpsmen who serve with them since 1962. Parents of eligible applicants must have served honorably for more than 90 days. Applicants need to demonstrate good academic standing, and participation in school or civic activities.
