Capt. Carlos LeBron was relieved from his duties as commander of U.S. Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC)-Asia Sept. 29, because of “a loss in confidence in his judgment and ability to command,” according to a statement issued by the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. LeBron has been assigned to “administrative duties” pending an investigation. Capt. Marshall Monteville, the command’s executive officer, will assume command until a permanent replacement for LeBron is named.
