Army non-commissioned officers who once faced the probability of leaving their families behind for weeks at a time while they attend training courses now find their separation burden has eased a bit. More frequently, the Army will now send the trainers to the soldiers rather than the other way around. Recently, trainers from the Signal Regimental Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Fort Gordon, Ga., traveled to Fort Hood, Texas, to teach a course in radio operator maintenance to 38 sergeants and staff sergeants there.
