The national defense act will increase medical education loan repayment authority from $22,000 to $60,000. It also will Increase the stipend under the Health Professions Scholarship Program from $579 a month to a maximum of $30,000 a year. And it will triple the maximum grant under the Health Professions Scholarship Program from $15,000 to $45,000. The reserve critical health skill special pay will jump from $10,000 to $25,000. The accession bonus for dentists will skyrocket from $30,000 to $200,000. And those with critical physician and dentist skills will be eligible for a new $400,000 accession bonus.
