Army and Air National Guard units mobilized to assist persons in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, who were affected by floods in the aftermath of Hurricane Joaquin. Missions included rescue missions conducted by UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, distribution of sand bags, and recovery of civilian first-responder vehicles. The units came from the three affected states and Maryland. Meanwhile, New York Guard units helped clear debris in their state caused by the storm.
