The projected rotation dates from sea to shore duty and vice versa soon will change for more than 60,000 sailors, most of whom will see an upswing in time they spend at sea. Once adjustments are complete on Sept. 1, sailors in 36 ratings will spend more time at sea, with 18 ratings reclassified as sea-intensive, the Navy Personnel Command announced Aug. 17. Projected rotation dates occurring before next May will remain the same. Navy personnel officials implemented the change to reflect the increasing need to fill sea-duty billets, and make it easier for sailors to predict when they will be stationed ashore.
