Following up on an earlier announcement regarding the upcoming Senior Enlisted Continuation Board, the Navy offered more details about factors that will be considered when the board convenes Sept. 21 to determine who can stay and who must either retire or move to the fleet reserve. According to NAVADMIN 211/09, viewable on the Navy Personnel Center Web site at http://www.npc.navy.mil/Channels/, factors such as performance, physical fitness, clean police and disciplinary records, and stable domestic circumstances will be considered heavily. The board will review the records of some 5,500 chief, senior chief, and master chief petty officers. Sailors in some career fields, including nuclear, SEAL, explosive ordnance disposal technician, and diver, will be exempt from the board’s review, as are fleet, force, and command master chiefs.
