Navy Reaches Desired End-Strength

After reducing its total force for the past several years, the Navy has nearly reached its end-strength goal of 329,000 sailors. "We are now finished downsizing," said Rear Adm. Daniel P. Holloway, the Navy’s director of personnel, plans and policy. The service had seen its rolls drop by between 8,000 and 10,000 members annually since downsizing began.
