The Navy Personnel Command has released a newly published version of its transition assistance handbook. Sailors and officers can download the handbook in .pdf format from the personnel command’s Web site, at www.npc.navy.mil/boards/ERB. The publication contains updates on benefits relating to education, involuntary separation, relocation assistance, VA health care and life insurance, and affiliation with the Selected Reserve. The new publication comes as the Navy must trim its rolls of sailors and officers in overstaffed career fields, to comply with congressionally mandated strength levels.
