The Navy is encouraging its finest master and senior chief petty officers to apply for the Command Master Chief (CMC) and Command Senior Chief (CSC) Program. Successful candidates would join the ranks of predecessors who have provided the essential link between enlisted sailors and their superior officers, personnel officials said. "As a command master chief or senior chief, you are the sailors’ voice and they look to you for answers during challenging times, and you must be ready," said Command Master Chief Petty Officer (SW) Brent Tidwell, the CMC/CSC detailer with Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tenn. The application procedure is outlined in NAVADMIN 224/13 or OPNAVINST 1306.2G. Both are available on the Web at www.npc.mil.
