
The Navy is inviting officers in 0-3 through 0-5 and enlisteds in E-7 through E-9 paygrades, as well as civilian employees, to apply for the service’s Legislative Fellows Program. Successful applicants to would serve on Capitol Hill with a member of Congress for one year.
“This is a highly competitive program,” the Navy said in a service-wide announcement. “Records must reflect sustained superior performance and potential for future assignments in critical billets.”
Military applicants must be available for permanent-change-of-station (PCS) moves to the Washington, D.C., area. Once selected, they would be assigned to the Office of Legislative Affairs for administrative purposes. Administrative matters for civilians would remain with their commands.
Anyone accepted into the program would need to agree to a three-year service commitment after completing their stint on Capitol Hill. The Office of Legislative Affairs must receive applications via email by May 12.
