The Navy has established an intelligence officer Critical Skills Retention Bonus (Intelligence CSRB) for qualified intelligence officers. Eligible for consideration are special duty intelligence officers (Designator 263X) permanently appointed to the rank of lieutenant on the active duty list who have fulfilled their minimum service requirement from commissioning and completed six years commissioned service. Candidates must agree to remain on active duty as intelligence officers for a period of five years. Those accepted will receive a bonus payment of $20,000 for the first year and $5,000 during each of the remaining four years. Initial year groups for consideration are 1999, 2000 and 2001.
