The Navy has successfully tested the latest version of the Aegis Combat System. In a Feb. 6 demonstration conducted on the destroyer John Paul Jones, the Aegis Baseline 9.C2 (BMD 56.1) weapon system proved capable of enhancing anti-missile capabilities already inherent to the program. The test was conducted in collaboration with the Missile Defense Agency and Lockheed Martin Corp., Aegis’ manufacturer.
