The Active, Guard and Reserve components of each armed service either met or exceeded November recruiting and retention goals. The Marine Corps led the way for active-duty components with 2,444 accessions, 181 ahead of its goal. The Army had 2,783 accessions, 33 higher than its goal. The Navy (2,732 accessions) and Air Force (1,836 accessions) hit 100 percent of their respective projected goals. The Air National Guard (735 accessions) exceeded its monthly goal by 33 percent; Army Guard, with 5,135 accessions, hit 116 percent of its goal. The Army Reserve (2,980 accessions) landed 26 members of its goal. The Navy Reserve (895 accessions), Marine Corps Reserve (572 accessions) and Air Force Reserve (558 accessions) each met 100 percent of their goals. Accessions include both re-enlistees and new recruits.
