Obama Vows Federal Support for Military Families

President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, and Jill Biden, the wife of Vice President Biden, outlined an administration initiative to commit the activities of 50 federal agencies to better serving those in uniform and their families. Among the goals: better mitigation of suicide trends; expanded access to counseling and child care for children; elimination of homelessness; expansion of career opportunities for spouses; targeting discretionary educational grants to military families; and easing the path to obtaining professional licenses.
