The recent security breach into personnel information held by the Office of Personnel Management could affect every current and former member of the Army National Guard since 2004, service officials said July 10. Names, Social Security numbers, birth dates and home address could be among the information compromised, they said. The National Guard Bureau set up a Web site, http://www.nationalguard.mil/Features/IdentityTheft.aspx; and a toll-free number, (877) 2276-4729, which is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday. The center is set up to help callers prevent or react to identity theft.
