The Marine Corps plans to station a squadron of CV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft at Yokota Air Base, Japan, the Pentagon announced May 11. The Ospreys will serve as transport for special-operations units, which would stand ready to respond to contingencies in the Asia-Pacific Theater. The first three aircraft will arrive sometime after mid-2017, with another seven to join them by 2021.
