The U.S. Pacific Command could get a new name, Military Times reported. A command spokesman told a reporter recently that it could soon become officially known as U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, to reflect the importance of the Asian subcontinent. “There’s no announcement on the change of Pacific Command,” Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Rob Manning told the reporter during a May 21 press conference. “What I will tell you is … the significance of any name change is to better characterize the responsibility.”
