Service members who assisted in disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of the flooding that took place in Pakistan’s Swat Valley last year are entitled to receive the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Defense Department announced April 22. Eligibility extends to all who took part in the mission, including aircrews, between July 31 and Dec. 15. Applicants should be ready to provide appropriate documentation, including temporary duty orders, travel vouchers, decoration citations, and performance reports.
