The Pentagon is giving potential contractors an extra six months to develop the Army’s next-generation Ground Combat Vehicle (GHC), in order to ensure that the finished product both meets service needs and comes in at an affordable price. Sometime next year, when the extension expires, the service will select one of two potential vendors as the vehicle’s single producer.
