Powell: Close Gitmo

Colin Powell, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretary of State, believes the detention center at Guantanamo Bay Naval Station, Cuba, should be closed. Speaking to NBC News, Powell said, “I think it’s in the best interest of the nation and it’s in the best interest in our moral authority around the world.” Meanwhile, NBC News reported, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said the House would work to stop the Obama administration’s plans to shut down the facility and bar the re-internment of its 50 inmates in U.S. facilities.
