Some sailors affected by the Navy’s Perform-To-Serve force-shaping program have an important deadline looming. Those whose Perform-To-Serve quotas expired March 1 have until May 1 to submit a request for reinstatement to the managers of their respective enlisted communities to have their quotas restored. The Navy uses Perform-To-Serve in order to eliminate overstaffing in some ratings and bolster manpower in understaffed ratings. Each enlisted sailor must have an approved Perform-To-Serve application in order to negotiate orders, reenlist, or extend their Navy career. More details are outlined in NAVADMIN 352/10, viewable on the Navy Personnel Command Web site at www.npc.navy.mil.
