The services largely met or exceeded recruiting and retention goals through November for the 12-month period that began Oct. 1. Only the Army Reserve fell short, announcing 4,013 accessions – below its projected goal of 4,677. The active Army reported 11,685 accessions; the active Navy reported 5,299 accessions, the active Marine Corps reported 4,293 accessions, the active Air Force reported 4,452 accessions, the Air National Guard reported 1,414 accessions, and the Air Force Reserve reported 1,279 accessions – all meeting their target goals. The Army National Guard reported 8,453 accessions and the Marine Corps Reserve reported 1,768 accessions – each exceeding projected goals of 7,146 and 1,569 respectively.
