The active and reserve components of the armed services largely either met or exceeded year-to-date recruiting and retention goals for the first month of fiscal year 2015, which began Oct. 1. The active Navy (2,705 accessions), Marine Corps (2,651 accessions), Air Force (1,326 accessions), Air National Guard (577 accessions) and Air Force Reserve (681 accessions) all met their goals precisely. The active Army (4,334 accessions), Army Reserve (2,703 accessions), Navy Reserve (605 accessions), and Marine Corps Reserve (770 accessions) all exceeded theirs. The Army National Guard (4,137 accessions) fell slightly short of recruiting goals.
