The Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) is reminding recipients of military paychecks that distribution of paper checks will end next March 1. At that point, most DFAS will switch to a fully electronic payment system. The agency is urging all customers to sign up for direct deposit to their savings or checking accounts sooner rather than later. To do so, recipients can use their myPay accounts, complete a Fast Start Direct Deposit form and submit it to DFAS, or call the agency’s customer service line toll-free at (888) 332-7411. Direct deposit offers simpler, quicker, and safer payments, DFAS said.
