The British Royal Navy is allowing Marine Corps F-35 fighters to land on one of its aircraft carriers, the BBC reported Nov. 26. British defense officials made the move to let the F-35 conduct operations on the HMS Queen Elizabeth in order to help flight crews prepare for introduction of the aircraft into the Royal Navy inventory, according to the BBC. The Royal Navy had anticipated placing its first F-35 squadron onto its carriers sometime in 2018, but concerns are rising that the deadline may not be met.
