Rep. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., is considering a run for the U.S. Senate seat in 2016, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Duckworth, a former Army helicopter pilot, lost both legs and severely injured an arm when she was shot down over Iraq. She would challenge incumbent Republican Sen. Mark Kirk, a retired Navy officer. Duckworth is returning to work soon from maternity leave; Kirk is recovering from a debilitating stroke that kept him from the Senate for the better part of a year.
